- o.k., i've waited for 4.1 to come out so that i would finally be able to use
- timecode (ltc) with the flyer. but this is ridiculous the documentation
- states: "the flyer accepts smtpe time code while recording, and will output
- time code during playback." in the "fyi" section the manual then states that
- "the flyer will not playback time code...."
-
- confused?
-
- then, to make matters worse, the manual indicates that to use timecode, video
- must be fed into input 1. where's the flexibility in this? what if i have
- three diffent formats feeding inpust 2, 3, and 4 (which i do), and have my
- house sync connected to input 1? now i am forced to either daisychain my
- video sources and input into channel 1, or i must route the video sources
- through an external switcher to input to input 1 of the toaster/flyer
- switcher!!!! geez....
-
- further, no mention is made of serial channel b. (well, the way i understood
- the first paragraph, serial-a is the timecode input port and serial-b is the
- output.)
-
- o.k., so do i have to route all video into input 1? do i have to reconfigure
- for those times that i want to edit tape-to-tape using channels 2-4?
-
- i called newtek in october requesting info on tc support on the flyer, was
- told that it would be in the 4.1 manual, and this is what we get?!!
-
- semi-frustrated,
- greg
